PLAYERS, COACHES, PARENTS, BOARD MEMBERS, AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS,

PLAYERS, WHAT A GREAT SPRING SEASON!!! You all did a great job out there, learning new things, playing with your teammates and having fun!

COACHES, Thank you for taking your time out of your busy lives to give back to the kids. Coaching can often times be a thankless job and a lot of us are coaches because “someone has to do it”. THANK YOU for everything that you did in order to help the players grow this spring session! Your time and support does not go unnoticed and I know is appreciated by your players. There are pictures all over the internet to prove that. I even stole a couple muddy ones from Facebook:

Parents, the first spring session was a success, in part, due to your flexibility. With a limited number of coaches, and a random draw it put players in various districts based on where the coaches were. My team had a number of players from Aurora on it that I would have probably never got the opportunity to work with and while this was a little different than what we are used to, it was successful as the kids got to meet some new friends and hopefully created some new rivalries as well.

Spring soccer was about development and fun, and I saw a lot of that on the fields this spring. In addition to getting better each and every time out on the pitch, coaches focused this spring on four main things: Mutual Respect, Confidence, Cooperation, and HAVING FUN! Board Members from each participating district did a great job keeping everything together in order to make this inaugural season a success. Between Board Members, and all the other volunteers that contributed to other various things this inaugural spring season was a lot of fun, and gave kids another opportunity to make friends and play the game together.

I’d also like to thank Brent from Ohio Valley Screen Printers, in Lawrenceburg, for supplying us with great, cost effective t-shirts in order to allow us to keep the cost for Spring Soccer down. He went out of his way to help us put together the jerseys and was extremely flexible when we had any changes or adjustments that needed to take place.

Without each and every person working together we wouldn’t have been able to offer such a fun spring session. If you’re looking for an opportunity to get involved in your community, each district board has been looking for additional volunteers and we need your help to try and improve our programs!!! Each volunteer makes this league possible. In addition to volunteering, make sure not to miss out on some great summer camps being held in Aurora and Lawrenceburg offered in conjunction with UK International! Check out each district’s Facebook page for more information.

FALL RECREATIONAL LEAGUE SIGNUPS ARE HAPPENING NOW IN OUR VARIOUS DISTRICTS!!!! CONTACT YOUR DISTRICT BOARD MEMBERS FOR MORE INFORMATION: Head to SISAY.org , hover over links, and select Board Directory for contact information. There are more exciting things to come this fall! Keep an eye out for some EXCITING NEWS coming regarding additional soccer opportunities in our community!

Thank you all again for your continued support of local soccer!
